Michael Tollin is an award-winning producer, director, and storyteller with a legacy of shaping some of the most iconic sports and entertainment content of the past three decades. He most recently served as Executive Producer for acclaimed documentary series including The Last Dance (Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls), The Captain (Derek Jeter and the Yankees), and The Redeem Team (USA’s Olympic gold medal–winning basketball team).
Mike’s feature films include Coach Carter, Radio, Dreamer, Varsity Blues, Hardball, Summer Catch, and Big Fat Liar. His documentary Hank Aaron: Chasing the Dream, which he directed and produced, earned a Peabody Award and an Academy Award nomination. He was also one of the founding producers of ESPN’s groundbreaking “30 for 30” series.
In television, Mike has produced hundreds of hours of hit programming, including Smallville, One Tree Hill, and HBO’s Arli$$, earning four Emmy Awards along the way.
An active philanthropist, Mike is a founding board member of Common Sense Media and also serves on the boards of The Chasing the Dream Foundation and PACE, a private philanthropy group he founded to empower youth through education and storytelling.
Mike is currently in development to produce a film based on the memoir Everyone Needs a Larry, inspired by his sister-in-law Jenn Greenhut’s extraordinary cancer journey and the healing power of love.
